Time Line. I should head out to Christchurch, New Zealand around October 15, 2006. Once in Christchurch, outfitting will occur at the National Science Foundation's office. Depending on weather, we will be boarding an New Zealand Air Force transport for McMurdo Station. Once at McMurdo, I will be attending "snow" school...I guess survial traning, etc...and then out to the advanced base camps. I plan on conducting my research at three lakes (Bonney, Frexyll, and Hoare), and plan to measure the ice through the melting season. I should finish up around Christmas, head back to NZ for a couple weeks of baking at some oceanside resort on the South Island , then back to Columbus where the fun starts...

I should of mentioned this before. I would like to thank Anne Carey and Berry Lyons for allowing me to particiapate on this years LTER team. Thank you!
